Life
Wow it has been a fair while since I did a proper journal and once again this one will be pretty quick. I have been so busy of late but life has not been to bad. For a few months I was in a major down but I seem to be out of that for now which is good. Trying to put things in motion to both help myself and the things I enjoy but am still struggling to catch up on stuff and get everything done. I haven't done a Japan journal in ages and still haven't gone through half the photos, I haven't written any reports for my website in ages and I haven't been uploading much to DA.
On the plus side, I am chipping away at my cosplay progress, feel I am making some improvements in my photography and knowledge of it and work has been giving me more responsibility such as going out on site to make inspections.
Being put into a sleep clinic Wednesday night to see if anything can be done about my snoring (those that have shared a room with me know what I am talking about
The other thing I have been enjoying is my cricket. I play indoor cricket once a week and when I joined this team, we really sucked and hardly won any games. Now we play pretty well and have had a fair few wins and sit second on the table. I have been playing fairly well which makes me feel good. I am not the best batsman but my strength is bowling and I have been taking several wickets most weeks for a while.
Cosplay
As I said above, it is getting there slowly. Sadly I had to drop the one new costume I was planning with a group for AVCon and also Lancer which I was going to do to Manifest is a big maybe. That still leaves me with three new costumes to finish and a couple to fix up to reuse.
Photography
I haven't been doing my photography with everything else I have had on. However as you might have seen, I did a photoshoot for *SeishinKibou and her Silmeria costume. I was fairly happy with the results and there were a couple of shots I really liked. I am trying not to be so hard on myself but there is still a lot to improve on and sometimes the amount seems daunting plus circumstances/location don't always allow me to do what I want.
After thinking about it for a while I have decided to make paying for photoshoots optional. This has a little to do with digital SLRs coming down in price and the new found popularity of photography, the fact nearly anybody can do it and I am nothing special. I still intend to keep the form system I put in place to try and help myself be better organised, just the option to pay is optional. Also the option on how to pay can be chosen between the $20 upfront or you can now buy individual originals from my photo website for $1 or $2.
If you would still like a photoshoot at one of the conventions please fill in this form: [link] There are more details at the top of the form. Manifest seems to be the most popular convention for photoshoots so if you would like one there please fill in a form ASAP or I may fun out of slots.
Those that would like a photoshoot outside of a convention setting, please contact me directly and we can try and work something out but it probably won't be until conventions season is over in October.
Conventions
AV Con -> 2 weeks -> SMASH -> 2 weeks -> Manifest -> 2 Weeks -> Animania -> 2 Weeks -> Gen Con
This schedule really ticks me off >< Why must they do this to me! I am so far behind in my preparations as well! I still have to work out accommodation for all of them, organise tickets or passes for three of them and also book travel for four of them :dies:

What do you think about the iPhone? [link]
Yeah I have started to think about getting one with the new 3GS coming out and fixing a few of the issues I had with it.

Joke
Question: What is the definition of Globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana's death.
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess
with an Egyptian boyfriend
crashes in a French tunnel,
driving a German car
with a Dutch engine,
driven by a Belgian who was drunk
on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling)
followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,
on Japanese motorcycles;
treated by an American doctor,
using Brazilian medicines.
This is sent to you by an Australian,
using Bill Gates's technology,
and you're probably reading this on your computer,
that use Taiwanese chips,
and a Korean monitor,
assembled by Bangladeshi workers
in a Singapore plant,
transported by Indian lorry-drivers,
hijacked by Indonesians,
unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,
and trucked to you by Mexican illegals.....
That, my friends, is Globalization!
