Something a bit different. I made this sword and sheath for *SeishinKibou and her Silmeria costume. I didn't do the painting or the leather straps, *SeishinKibou did that.
This took me quite a few weekends of work as I am pretty slow and there was a lot of detail. It isn't anything super special but I am still happy with it
Materials used include pine, MDF, craft foam and I did reinforce the tip with some fibre glass resin.
There is a little bit of a teaser of *SeishinKibou's costume and the photoshoot we did on the weekend but you will just have to wait for her to put them up
There is somthing incredibly simple about this sword, it is hard to discribe the purity of the clean cut craftsmanship. When people think of a "great" sword people imagine the sword being overly detailed and having a perfect form. Yet that view is too single minded I consider this sword a "great" one.
The form of the sword yet simple, is very articulate in its design, more so then what you first see. The sword is so well crafted that I can see very little flaw in the work of the details and the form of the handle. Heck even the sheath is cleanly made as well! from far away this could look like a real sword
This sword might not be overly detailed, however the sheet craftsmanship of this sword is extremely clean and well proportioned. The sword has a very high level of quality of structure essentially, its like all the details and form of the swords balance well together for a splendid sword!
It reminds me of the Roto Sword from Dragon Quest... I wonder how I can make the Valkyrie Long Sword out of wood... was it hard to make handle, sheath and Cross-Guard?
Magneficient and AWESOME! I Luv it ! I wish there was a Tutorial to make such beautiful Long/Medieval Swords. It's a Great sword and I wonder How much it takes to make something like that and how much it costs and stuff. Because I am busy finding the perfect way to make my Cosplay Sword. And this sword is one of the examples. Others are; Falchion, Ragnell and Master Sword. But this one is AWESOME and Great too ^^
The cost money wise wasn't that much as I used fairly cheap materials (I did have to buy a new jig saw though as my old one broke on this >< but time wise, it took ages ><
